Reiki is a healing modality of healing. To put it in words that are more easily understood Reiki is a ‘learned’ technique whereby a Reiki practitioner can manipulate the energy of the cells in the human body and turn disease, pain and symptoms off.
A Reiki practitioner has a ‘learned’ ability to access life force energy and direct it into the cellular level where disease, virus, bacteria are creating whole body pain and suffering. Reiki is the acess of universal life force energy, funneling it into another living being (plant, animal, human, etc.) and switching on the process of healing from within.
A Reiki practitioner is like an electrical cord that contains the current of electricity and tranfers that current where it is needed. The difference between an electric cord that contains electrical energy and a Reiki Practitioner is that Universal Life Force Energy is not contained and can be manipulated with the thought processes. Reiki healing energy can easily be manipulated from a practitioner in Ohio to a client in England simply by containing that healing energy within the thought and vision of perfect health. Thoughts are powerful movement of energy over space and time. The healing thought transfers from the Reiki practioner to the client as fast as the speed of light (or thought).
It makes no difference whether you believe in healing energy… a healing takes place in some way. Reiki healing energy can easily be compared to a powerful magnet. All we may see is a hunk of metal but inside that hunk of metal is a charge of energy that can lift a car off the ground and crush it. Every living thing on Earth possesses it – physics and biology has proven this.
Fifteen to twenty years ago and all the way back to the mystery schools of Egypt, healing modalities were hidden and secret. Priests, monks and the religious dogma made it a crime to practice healing and everyone who were natural healers forgot how to make it happen. Healing was a lost art for the everyday person. But the truth is that everyone possesses the ability to manipulate energy to make powerful things happen… big things… even miracles. The ability to manipulate energy is the true meaning of the word Reiki. Miracles happen every day when healing energy is manifested, manipulated and used in the proper fashion.

I have seen miracles as a result of Reiki transfer of energy from the cellular level, where energy is transferred through the cell membrane into the organelles and moved through the mitrochondria pass the membrane and throughout the human body. What is Reiki?
Reiki (Ray-key) is universal life-force energy that moves through and around every living aspect of life in the Universe. Reiki comes from a source that can never be drained. Reiki is the most prosperous energy in the universe, happiness and joy come from life force energy; abundance of love and material prosperity pours from this energy too. It is never ending and the only thing that blocks it is ourself.
What does a Reiki Practitioner actually do?
A Reiki Practitoner is ‘attuned’ to the universal life force and is trained in the ability to move healing energy (life-force energy) from the Creator or Universe into the energy field of a living entity (person, plant or animal, building, car or place, etc.) to promote healing.
Reiki Practitioners know how to detect blocks and move energy into these areas. Reiki will move into the void that is left when ‘old-stuff’ empties out. This is true because every Physicist knows that nature abhors a vacuum.
How does a Reiki Practitioner ‘move’ this energy?
Best way to explain this is to think of an electrical appliance – a toaster. The toaster needs electricity to work. The cord and plug connects with the current of electricity and the toaster works. Now imagine that you are the toaster; I am the cord and plug; and the current that runs through the cord is the pure life force energy (Reiki). And now you work the way you are suppose to! (Guess what, you just recieved Reiki by simply reading this!)
How does a Reiki Practitioner become ‘attuned’ to Reiki?
During Reiki training the Reiki Master-Teachers directs rays of Universal Life-Force Energy (Reiki) into the energy field of the student which acclimates each cell in the students body so that it ‘lights’ up or is ‘turned on’. Every cell in the human body already has a charge in it, becoming attuned to this energy super charges the Reiki Practitioners cells. Some people are born with the gift to manipulate energy but are not aware of it. They can walk into a room where people are having a heated discussion and simply by their presence and energy the atmosphere in the room and between the people become more friendly.

Why do I charge for a Reiki session?
There was a lot of time and money involved in my training.
I have costs involved that you may not be aware of. (Lease, utilites… etc.)
Expense of material to teach, (i.e. copy machines, books, videos, classes, etc.)
Skills and gifts must be finely toned and intition must be skillfully used. You have to pay the skilled personnel who changes the oil in your car – right?
Time invested in learning new healing deveolpements, teaching students, and the stress related to tending to those who are in pain (either physically, mentally or emotionally) and genuine caring.
Often times Reiki is the only means of income for a Reiki Practitioner – just as everyone has to make a living, receive payment for their services…..
A Reiki practioner treats the whole body, not just the physical and requires skills and training – you wouldn’t question your hair dressers expense, would you?
When something is given away for free very little value is placed on it. Reiki is a service for which a practitioner puts forth much of their own energy and skills.
How Does Reiki Heal?
The human body is composed of over a trillion cells. Each cell has an electromagnetic charge to it and puts out a charge of energy much like a spark. The energy transport system within our cells, the mitrochondria carries energy that can ‘spark’ up to 38 times more than a one cell organism. We have little star organized star systems within our bodies that sometimes are compromised by bacteria, virus or a genetic code from a gene. Energy responds best to other energy sources like a battery that has gone dead, it needs to be charged again.
When our energy system becomes inundated with negative energy from our fears, stress and other issues, the energy does not flow in a healthy pattern. Your body is very much like a car with a battery (cells) when the points and plugs misfire or the battery runs out of juice the car does not run smooth or becomes problematic (we develop dis-ease). Reiki simply removes or adjusts the energy system by charging the cells with super charged life-force energy and the body systems begin to flow and heal when balanced.
How do you know this?
There is a book available about the human cellular system by a microbiologist, Bruce Lipton, PhD; the title is “The Biology of Belief”. It is written in a way that most people can understand it with pictures that explain what is said.
My own personal experiences with energy, having NDE’s and being in spirit form (energy form) after leaving my body has provided much insight and knowledge.
As an energy life form you have a new perspective of what the human body
really is. Not all of us are fortunate enough to see auras but to give you an example of an aura; on a misty evening or night look up at any lit street light - the misty aura you see will give you an idea of what I and others see around most living things.
Energy blocks may trickle energy andc create stress, inability to focus, confusion, Insomnia, relationship problems, pain, flu or more serious illnesses. A Reiki Practitioner has the ability to move energy through the blocks during a session; however, issues from the past may back up and create more blocks until the issue is addressed. Often just moving energy throughout the body is enough that Issues move out of the cells of the body and healing takes effect immediately.
When your Life Force Energy is impaired the cells stop sparking as they were designed to do ending in mental, emotional, physical and even spiritual pain.
What are Chakras?
Chakras are energy centers where the physical body uses and releases energy. 
Chakras take in Universal Life Force Energy (prana, reiki, chi, etc.) and transform it to a vibrational frequency the human body is attuned to. The frequency pitch is based on the level of ‘awareness’ your body is tuned to. There are almost 80,000 chakras in the human body but 7 major Chakras.
Chakra 1 – Root chakra (Red) located between the anus and the gentalia (this chakra opens facing down toward Earth)
Chakra 2 – Navel or Sacral chakra (Orange) just below the navel area
Chakra 3 – Solar Plexus chakra (Yellow like the sun) is located just below the breast bone where the ribs float
Chakra 4 – Heart chakra (Green) is located in the center of your chest at heart area
Chakra 5 – Thoat chakra (Blue) is located at the base of the throat

Moods are energy and our energy can influence others just as you discovered and said in your comment. When we find a state of love within us – it is easy to enter a room where people are tense and ripe with anger, often we can generate enough love from our center that it spreads across the room. Soon your energy of love spreads throughout the stressed room radiating outward until the atmosphere changes.
